Dear STARtracks User,
The STARtracks reports listed below have recently been updated. In some cases, new data elements have been added, and in others outdated data elements have been removed. Read on for more information.
Direct Ed Reach and Demographics by Project. This report is an updated version of the Direct Ed Reach by Project report, which will be retired on February 15. Major changes include:
· Tables presenting reach data by Strategy have been removed, due to the variable nature of the Strategy variable (i.e., for series that are in progress, Strategy is based on the number of planned sessions, but for series that have ended, Strategy is based on the number of sessions delivered).
· Caregiver reach data has been moved to the All Direct Education summary table at the beginning of the report.
· The title of this report was changed to reflect the demographic data it provides, including: age, gender, ethnicity, and race.
Count and Average Time of Sessions by Intervention. This report is an updated version of the Count and Average Time of Programs report, which will be retired on February 15. Major changes include:
· In the report title, the more generic term “programs” was replaced with the more specific term “sessions” that’s defined in the latest version of policy E-02, Reporting Requirements for Direct Education and Indirect Channels.
· As its name indicates, intervention data has been added to this report. The report groups programming data first by Intervention (e.g., K-12 Schools, Early Childhood, Food Assistance, Food Retail and Community) and then by Project (Adult/Senior, Schoolage and Preschool).
Indirect Channel Distribution Summary. The name of this report has not changed, but content has been updated as follows:
· In order to provide a broader perspective on how indirect channels are used, this report now presents distribution data grouped first by indirect channel purpose (e.g., Reinforce Direct Education, Support PSE Activities, Recruit Participants for Direct Ed, etc.) and then by Intervention.
· The number of direct education contacts for the period has been added to this report to provide added context when reviewing the delivery of indirect channels.
These reports will be used by ME staff for quarterly monitoring purposes. In addition, we encourage all partners to consider how these updated reports can help to improve reporting accuracy and enhance process evaluation efforts.
Please contact the STARtracks help desk if you have questions or need assistance with any of these reports. As always, we welcome your feedback.
