Dear STARtracks User,
Full access to STARtracks has been restored and data entry for the FY20 plan year can now begin. For best performance, we strongly recommend that you refresh STARtracks when you first log in. It only takes a minute, and step-by-step instructions are attached for your convenience.
The FY20 release includes many updates requested by users, including:
◦ Incomplete Series warning. When entering series classes into STARtracks, the dialog that opens when you click Save Changes has been redesigned, making it easier for users to decide which button to click on, and when a user clicks on Close Series, STARtracks closes the series automatically.
◦ Keyboard entry of Indirect Channel data. When entering indirect channels associated with direct education, users can now open the indirect channels dialog, navigate through it, and update data in it without ever picking up a mouse. Of course, it’s still an option to use a mouse, if you prefer.
◦ Correcting Grade errors. It is now possible to edit the grade level in a series once it has been created. It is no longer necessary to delete and re-enter a whole series just because of an incorrect grade assignment.
◦ Opt out of demographic defaults. When preparing sites for FY20 data entry, users can now opt-out of entering demographic defaults, if not applicable. When users opt out, the red box indicator is turned off, making it easier to identify sites that really require attention.
◦ Improved readability. In the previous release of STARtracks, gray/italics text was used to indicate unsaved changes and gray/non-italics text indicated locked elements. To increase contrast and improve readability, gray text has been replaced with black.
For more information about the above updates we encourage you to view the FY20 STARtracks training videos on the partner portal training page. If you still have questions or comments, please contact us at the STARtracks help desk.
Thanks,
Mary
